It was a wet start and the wind returned with a vengeance for the fourth day of the The Tassie as the two competitions entered the 2nd round match play stage, once again being played over the Championship and Buddon Links Courses.
A number of the Carnoustie golfers playing in the Craw’s Nest Tassie enjoyed a successful day, with two-time champion Andy Fyfe, fellow two-time winner Scott Mann and current Links Champion Dan Lawrence all booking their place in the last 16 with wins over Adam Moore, Daniel Johnson and Austin Siggers respectively.
There was a surprise in the opening game of the Maulesbank Trophy as first seed Dominic Thorp of Lansdown Golf Club was beaten 4&3 by Pat Smith of The Shire.
It’s a busy day of action on the Championship Course tomorrow as the Round of 16 and quarter-final ties for both the Craw’s Nest Tassie and the Maulesbank Trophy take place.
