The qualifier, one of nine regional competitions across the UK, leads to the PGA Pro Championship, to be played at Little Alston Golf Club from 24th-27th July 2018.
Keir got off to a superb start with three birdies on the opening five holes and remained consistent throughout the rest of his round to card the only score under par of the day with a one-under round of 70.
That put him two shots ahead of the chasing pack with Ross Leeds (Archerfield Links), Jonathan Porteous (Craigielaw Golf Club) and Paul McKechnie (Braid Hills Golf Range) carding rounds of 72.
Ian Taylor (Drumpellier Golf Club), Stephen Gray (Lanark Golf Club), Michael Patterson (Kilmacolm Golf Club), Gareth Wright (West Linton Golf Club), Andrew Cooper (Newburgh on Ythan Golf Club), Graham Forbes (Mar Hall Hotel & Resort), Graham Fox (Clydeway Golf) and Christopher McMaster (Downfield Golf Club) make up the remaining 12 qualifiers for the final competition.
Keir’s other win this calendar year was in the Midland Golfer’s Alliance final outing of the 2017/18 season.
