Keir makes the grade as Level 3 coach

Our Senior Assistant PGA Professional, Keir McNicoll, has obtained his ASQ Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Golf from The Professional Golfers’ Association.

From start to finish, gaining the qualification took Keir two years to complete but it means that he will be able to plan, implement, analyse and revise annual golf coaching programmes for golfers with a range of abilities, skills and experience, provide appropriate golf advice and solutions to individuals attending coaching sessions and understand the science behind golfing performance and coaching.

Gaining this level of qualification means Keir can continue his development as the ‘right coach in the right place at the right time’.

Speaking of his achievement, Keir said: “The Level 3 coaching qualification has allowed me to increase and improve my knowledge as a golf coach. Being a good coach isn’t just about being able to make swing improvements, it’s about being able to coach a player in a variety of areas and through the qualification I have learned how to do this.

“Continually learning and improving as coach is very important to me as this will also allow my own students to learn faster and improve quicker.”

The PGA’s vision for the future of golf coaching is to ensure more people are playing golf, more people are achieving their potential, more people are staying in golf and there are better performances on a world stage.
