The leading four players who finish in the top 12 and ties at the SMBC Singapore Open who are not already exempt will earn places in The 147th Open at Carnoustie, 15-22 July 2018.
The SMBC Singapore Open is the third event in The Open Qualifying Series and is being played from 18-21 January 2018 on the Serapong Course at Sentosa Golf Club.
Sergio Garcia, Tirawat Kaewsiribandit, Louis Oosthuizen and Kurt Kitayama share the clubhouse lead with a -5 round of 66 on the opening day.

In the event of a tie for a qualifying place, the player with the higher ranking in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) at the beginning of the week commencing 15 January will be awarded a place in The 147th Open.
