Carnoustie Golf Links

The draws have been made for this coming Sunday’s junior competitions on the Burnside course including the Junior Links Championship and our inaugural Flag event.

This is the first time we have ran the ‘Flag’ event at Carnoustie and it will be fantastic to see everyone there! However, as it maybe some of the junior’s first visit to the Burnside course, we would be grateful if parents/family members could walk with the players to assist safety.

Afterwards, there will be a presentation and gathering for everyone in the Flag event in the Carnoustie Golf Club and all players and family members are encouraged to attend. Presentation for the Junior Links Championship and Nicoll Cup will take place on the evening of Friday 9^th June after the Links Championships have concluded.

Flag Event Rules

The rules of the flag event are slightly different from a normal round but will make the game fun and enjoyable for all ages.

Players are issued a numbered/coloured flag at first tee.

Each player has 45 strokes to complete as many holes as possible.

When 45 strokes have been played, the player marks their position on the course with their own flag.

You do not have to play any more holes!

Specific ules for Flag event only:

10 stroke rule – max number of strokes per hole is 10

3 in a bunker rule – once a player has attempted 3 strokes in bunker, the player can then throw the ball as close as possible

4 putt rule – most putts a player is allowed per hole is 4
