Home of The Open Championship 2007

The above event being hosted at Carnoustie from July 26th-August 2nd 2008 has attracted a record 383 applications. Due to this there is a record handicap level of 0.6 being successful. See www.scottishgolfunion.org for more information.

As part of the ongoing relationship with the R & A, Dr Robert Taylor recently visited the Championship course with the intention of preparing a report as to how Carnoustie can ready itself in environmental terms for any future Open Championships. Dr Taylor was very pleased with how the Championship Course coped with the large number of spectators in 2007 and how little impact there was on the surrounding environment. However, there is always room for improvement, such as moving heather to areas where there is little spectator traffic. We await Dr Taylor’s report with interest and will advise members of the work he recommends.

• Cant Cup (Mixed Open) - Burnside Sunday 10th May 2009
• Carnoustie Classic - Mon 11th May-Thurs 14th May 2009 (see below)
• Boys & Girls Open - Burnside Monday 4th August 2008 -FULL
• Craws Nest Tassie - Championship and Burnside Courses Sun 31st August-Saturday 6th September 2008-FULL
• Senior Open (55+) -Burnside Friday 12th September 2008- FULL
